Admissions Radiography Program Checklist

The following criterion is used for entrance into the Radiography Program:

Minimum Requirements

  1. ___ High School or College Biology within the last 5 years with a C or better to get into A & P I.
  2. ___ High School or College Chemistry within the last 5 years with a C or better to get into A & P I
    The student needs these courses before they can enter into Anatomy and Physiology I and II. If the student needs to take chemistry and biology please make sure the students are enrolled in these classes as soon as they start to ensure they can get into A & P I and II as soon as possible.
  3. ___ College Math/Logical Reasoning Requirement Transferable Math 100 or higher or HSC 137 Math for the Health Profession.
  4. ___ the student must attend an information meeting which is scheduled in the fall and spring semester by zoom.
  5. ___ The student must complete at the least 12 core courses of the pre-requisites by the end of the fall semester to be eligible for the summer enrollment for the Rad Tech Program. These core courses include:
    • ENG 105 English Comp I OR SPC 112 Public Speaking (Completed by December to apply for the following summer entrance)
    • PSY 111 Intro Psychology I Or SOC:110 Intro Sociology (Completed by December to apply for the following summer entrance)
    • HSC 113 Medical Terminology (Completed by December to apply for the following summer entrance)
    • BIO 168 Anatomy and Physiology I (Completed by December to apply for the following summer entrance)
  6. ___ The Student must complete BIO 173 Anatomy and Physiology II by the 16 week spring semester or first 8 weeks of the spring semester to begin the program in the summer each year.
  7. ___ The student must complete the Assessment Entrance Examination (TEAS) prior to the March interview process. This entrance examination will be at a cost to the student of 115 dollars. The student may take the assessment entrance exam 2 times in one year to raise their scores. It is suggested not to complete the entrance exam until after the student has completed the core courses so the exam will reflect the current knowledge of the student. The student will need to contact the testing center to set up a time for the TEAS assessment entrance examination or it can be taken proctored online.
  8. If the student does not receive a C or higher in the above courses they may retake them a 2nd time to improve their scores.
  9. ___ College GPA of 2.5 or higher of pre- requisites and co-requisites
  10. Once these requirements are met the student must call to schedule an interview between January 15 and February 28, for a March interview with the Director of Radiography.
  11. Entrance into the program is based on a point system. The top 10 students receiving the most points will be accepted in April and the remaining 8 spots will be filled at the end of the spring semester. The 18 students accepted will begin the program the first eight weeks of the summer semester.

If students have the same total point count, the date they declared Radiography as their major will be used as a tie breaker.
